President Hedley's Year

Hedley & Mike

Presidential Handover

The handover meeting of the Rotary Club of Frodsham & Helsby, held at the Forest Hills Hotel in Frodsham on the 1st July saw the new President of the Club take up office.

Pictured is President Hedley Greaves wearing his chain of office receiving the Club's "Charter Certificate" from Past President Mike Collins.

In his address to the members, Hedley confirmed that the Club would continue to support Local, National and International Projects and Initiatives, but made special reference to helping in the provision of a specially adapted vehicle for the Halton Haven Hospice.

Frodsham & Helsby Rotary Club Burger Stall in ActionBurger Kings

On the 4th of July our burger stall broke all records by selling every one of its stock of 400 burgers, at Frodshams Festival in the Park.

This was partly due to the large number of hungry festival goers attracted by the unexpected sunny weather, but most of the credit should go to the delicious aroma of the sizzling burgers and the sunny disposition of the Rotarians manning the stall.

Burger In The Park

On Saturday the 17th of July, our Club was pleased to support the Family Fun & Sports Day that was organized by Helsby Sports and Social Club at their sporting facilities in Helsby.

Despite the wet start the event ended in glorious sunshine with all those involved having had a good time. Seen here manning the BBQ (and sheltering from the rain) are just some of the Rotary Club members who helped make the day.

President's Lunch

On Sunday the 1st of August, our President continued the well established tradition of holding a "Presidents Lunch". Joining Hedley and his wife Rosanne on a beautifully sunny day were their four children, partners and one grandchild. They, in turn, welcomed some 60 other guests to a most relaxing afternoon spent chatting and enjoying a wonderful buffet lunch, which was accompanied by champagne, wine and other appropriate beverages.

It goes without saying that all who attended had a wonderful time, and as expected, the barrel of Weetwood's "Eastgate" beer was not allowed to go to waste!
