President Hedley's Year

Cricket Match.

Monday the 12th of July saw our Club play a Cricket Match against our very good friends in the Northwich Vale Royal Club.

The match was played at Winington Hall Cricket Ground to a capacity crowd. The star studded Team, bristling with talent, was led by our Frank Ball, who set high standards firstly with the bat and then, naturally and quite frankly, with the ball (please excuse the intended pun).

The event was enjoyed by all who attended and, once again, victory went to our Club. Well done to all who attended.

Life EducationLife Education Caravan

Once again our Club was pleased to sponsor the Life Education Caravan on its visit to us from the 6th to the 17th of October 2004.

As in previous years, pupils from St Luke's & The Manor School in Frodsham, St Johns and the County Primary School in Kingsley and the Hillside School in Helsby all made use of this valuable learning centre.

Pictured here along with President Hedley and Roy Wallwork are Michelle McKenna, Harold the Giraffe and two of his admirers.

Greeting from Saskatchewan David Nevett

Once again it was with great pleasure that our Club welcomed visiting Rotarian David Nevett. David, is a member of the Rotary Club of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, District 5360 in Canada who is staying locally in Helsby with relatives.

Having recently retired from the Clergy, David is spending some 6 months here in the UK researching his family history whilst sightseeing, visiting as many of his relatives as is possible and helping in local C of E Churches.

David is pictured here presenting to our President a rather magnificent Cow Hide "Club Banner" made in Piapot, Saskatchewan by a local craftsman Ken Wright.

Paul Harris Fellow

New Paul Harris Fellow

It was with great pleasure that our Club awarded our present Hon. Sec. Mike Gammie with a Paul Harris Fellowship. The award was held at our Meeting on Thursday the 16th of December 2004 when our Ladies were invited to join us.

The unusual attire of our newest PHF is due to the fact that Mike is recovering from surgery to his right hand, with the plaster type cast precluding him from wearing a suit (at least that is his excuse!).......

Congratulations Mike!

Christmas Round TableSanta's Little Helpers

At our Christmas Dinner held on the 23rd of December 2004, we were pleased to receive a visit from Santa and his Helpers (better known as Frodsham & District Round-Tablers). As you might expect, there was an ulterior motive for this visit. Earlier the previous week our Club were in charge of the Round Table "Christmas Float" and on the evening we managed to collect £150.

Receiving a cheque from President Hedley is Michael O'Sullivan the Chairman of Frodsham & District Round Table, along with Santa and his Helpers.
